Dear students, dear teachers and other presentation supervisors
Let me welcome you all to this "IT Day" site, where we all prepare for the IT Day on the 30 May.
The first thing is to establish communication. Those who are registered on the site will receive this message via e-mail. As you read it confirm the receipt by clicking on this link. Only then we know that our communication works. A reliable communication is essential for the success of the project. E-mail is the channel this platform uses to inform you about the activities!
Our kick-off meeting is today evening at Video meeting, Thursday 15 May 19:30 (notice the access code). The video platform is called BigBlueButton (BBB) and is Open Source. It is very similar to Zoom. The big difference is that BBB doesn't need an 'app', no separate Mobile App nor a desktop application like Zoom Workplace is necessary. Everything runs on the web browser. So an up-to-date web browser like Firefox, Chrome/Chromium, Edge and a reliable Internet connection is needed.
Note that smartphones are insufficient for the kind of work we plan. Please connect from a PC or a laptop!
Please come prepared. Read How does this platform work before coming to the meeting. Then go through the List of topics for presentations and see whether you understand them do some web searches for further information to get an idea which ones you like. If you have your own ideas, please collect them. You will get the opportunity in the meeting to submit them too.
