AT TOWN HALL ORIENTAL BALLET REVIVED

The Vidura, Ballet, Chitra Sena's dance-drama which once created a sensation in Oriental ballet on the Colombo stage, is being revived at the Colombo Town Hall, on Saturday November 2. The ballet is built on the Vidura Jataka, famous in Buddhist literature.

Chitra Sena, who plays the part of Puranaka, is supported by Ganganath as Kuru Raja, while Rupa Lekha and Premila will play the roles of Irandhathi, the Naga Raja's queen and Vimala her daughter.

Music direction is in the hands of Sunel Shanti, while the compositions are by Ananda Samarakoon. Besides the main Ballet, the program will include
song and dance items.
