SONG AND DANCE RECITAL AT UNIVERSITY

The University of Ceylon Mela (Society of Oriental arts) which has revived its activities after about five years, has organised a song and dance recital scheduled for this evening at 6.30 at the University hall.

The recital is produced by Mr. Demosthenes A. Jayawardene, the President of the mela, and some of Ceylon's leading Oriental artistes are included in the evening's card. A noteworthy feature is the first appearance of Miss N. Bhattacharya and Mr. S. Dutt. Local artists include, Sunil Shanti, Ananda Samarakone, Surya Shankar, Indira Meun and the Sri Palee players.

The proceeds are in aid of the Mela Funds.
